Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (Program Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) launched by the government in 2025 is a strategic national-scale nutritional intervention to reduce stunting rates and optimize early childhood learning readiness. However, its implementation at the Raudhatul Athfal (RA) level is often faced with complex operational challenges. This study aims to analyze in-depth the implementation of the MBG Program at RA Perwanida 4 Palembang, covering aspects of planning, execution, obstacles, and the resulting impacts. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a phenomenological design. Primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with the principal, class teachers, and parents of Group B students, supported by participatory observation and documentation. The results indicate that the planning of MBG menus at RA Perwanida 4 Palembang has considered balanced nutritional parameters, but its implementation remains at a minimal standard level. Management analysis reveals operational gaps: planning tends to be repetitive, organizing is hindered by a limited number of teaching staff, and controlling is still subjective. Nevertheless, this program has successfully provided positive impacts, such as introducing healthy food types and habituating dining etiquette among students. In conclusion, the effectiveness of the MBG program requires improvements in innovative menu planning, scientific supervision, and solid synergy in nutritional education between the school and parents.
