Abstract

This study examined the methodological considerations of using survey and interview-based approaches in classroom research. The aim was to identify the strengths and limitations of each method, determine their applicability in various classroom contexts, and provide guidelines for effective data collection and analysis. Data were obtained from a systematic review of recent literature (2016–2025) focusing on survey and interview methods in education research. Findings indicated that surveys provide a broad quantitative overview of students’ perceptions and behaviors, while interviews offer in-depth qualitative insights into cognitive and affective processes. The study highlighted the importance of combining both methods for triangulation and enhancing validity. Recommendations for designing instruments, selecting participants, and integrating findings were proposed. The research concluded that methodological rigor, clear research questions, and context sensitivity are critical for reliable classroom research outcomes.
