Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) terhadap Hasil Belajar Bahasa Indonesia Siswa Kelas IV A, IV B, dan IV D SD Negeri 122 Palembang

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the cooperative learning model of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in classes IV A, IV B, and IV D at SD Negeri 122 Palembang. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest. The sample consisted of 102 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest), attitude observations, and skills assessments. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, N-Gain calculations, and hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in the average posttest scores compared to pretest scores across all classes. The N-Gain values were in the moderate to high categories, indicating the effectiveness of the TGT model in improving student learning outcomes. The t-test results also revealed that the calculated t-value was higher than the t-table value at a 5% significance level, thus the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In addition, the TGT learning model was proven to enhance students’ affective and psychomotor aspects through structured collaborative and competitive activities. Therefore, the TGT model can serve as an innovative alternative in improving the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
